HOW IT CONNECTS
LoRa or SIM? Start with your site.
Connectivity carries data. It does not determine a pump’s flow, power or suitability.
A local radio link through a gateway.
LoRa is the radio technology; LoRaWAN is a networking protocol that can use it. A compatible controller sends small messages through a gateway and network server to the software.

What to check
Confirm the device protocol, regional frequency, gateway coverage and internet backhaul. A LoRa label alone does not establish LoRaWAN or WaterPesa compatibility.
Costs to plan for
Allow for the gateway, its internet connection and any network service fees. Gateway backhaul may itself use a SIM.
Neither connection guarantees instant commands. Start/stop support depends on the controller, integration and local safety protections.
