What is WaterPesa?

WaterPesa is a water-management platform designed for Kenyan households, buildings and utilities. It brings water bills, payments, usage insights and issue reporting into one place.

Can I prepay my water remotely with WaterPesa?

WaterPesa is designed to support remote prepaid water top-ups through approved provider connections. Live availability depends on your account, meter and payment integration. Some meters still require entering a token at the property. The public demo simulates payments and does not deliver real water credit.

Does WaterPesa offer automatic water top-ups?

You can currently plan and save draft or paused top-up rules with a low-balance threshold or monthly date, a top-up amount and a monthly spending cap. These rules do not charge your account. Live automation requires separate authorization and enabled provider services.

Can I try WaterPesa before connecting an account?

Yes. Take a guided tour of bill review, usage insights and service requests, or try the sample account on the WaterPesa homepage. Example payments are simulated and no requests are sent to a provider.

Does WaterPesa work with my water provider?

Availability depends on your provider and the integrations enabled for your account. A provider appearing in our directory does not mean its accounts are connected to WaterPesa. Contact WaterPesa to check your provider before relying on a live payment or meter connection.

Which payment methods can I use?

WaterPesa is designed around M-PESA and Airtel Money, paid through your provider’s approved channels. Availability varies by provider. Payments in the public demo are simulated.

Is WaterPesa only for households?

No. WaterPesa is designed for households and tenants, landlords and property managers, and county water utilities. Properties and utilities can request a pilot to map their meters, payments and service requests.

How can WaterPesa help me reduce my water bill?

WaterPesa is designed to help you compare usage, investigate unusual increases and report possible leaks. Savings depend on your household, tariff and any repairs or changes you make; the amounts shown in previews are illustrative.
